Introduction to Gear Reducer Gearbox
I. Core Functions and Construction
Gearbox reducers (also known as reducers or reduction gearboxes) are core devices in mechanical transmission. Their core functions and technical characteristics can be comprehensively summarized as follows:
Core Functions
1. Speed Reduction and Torque Increase
Through gear meshing, the high speed and low torque of the prime mover (such as an electric motor) are converted into the low speed and high torque required by the working machine, solving the speed and torque matching problem between the power source and the actuator.
2. Power Transmission and Matching
Acting as a bridge between the prime mover and the working machine, it enables efficient power transmission and adapts to different load conditions (such as heavy-load starting and shock loads).
3. Optimization of Motion Characteristics
Change in motion direction: For example, worm gear reducers can achieve 90° shaft intersection angle transmission.
Self-locking function: Worm gear reducers have a reverse self-locking feature, preventing the load from driving in the reverse direction.
